The vision of a handful of Acadiana physicians became a realization when Park Place Surgical Hospital began operations as an Ambulatory Surgery Center on March 18th 1999.

The success of this physician owned facility was due to its quality of care and convenience for both patients and physicians. During its first few years, Park Place experienced tremendous growth and became an attractive alternative to the more traditional health care institutions for many patients in the Acadiana area. This success brought increased demand for services and in 2003 Park Place responded by becoming the first physician owned hospital in Lafayette, LA. Beyond the capability of providing more of the same out-patient services that were in demand, Park Place offered the community access to elective in-patient services that previously were only provided by Lafayette’s community hospitals.

Most recently in an effort to provide comprehensive services in conjunction with a larger institution, Park Place entered into a partnership with Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. This arrangement gives Park Place and its patients access to the vast resources and support of a nationally recognized medical center.
