Endoscopic Perforator Surgery

Endoscopic Perforator Surgery is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat chronic venous ulcers or other vein problems caused by abnormal “Perforator Veins” in the legs.

  • Local or general anesthesia may be used
  • Several small incisions are made at the site
  • An Endoscope (with a tiny camera) is inserted into the vein
  • A very small balloon is inserted into the Endoscope and inflated to create space in the vein
  • When the damaged veins are identified, they are blocked using a surgical clip inserted through the Endoscope
